“Better” is the Enemy of “Good Enough” – Voltaire
In the business world you never wait for your product to be perfect before you release it for sale. If a company waited for their product to be perfect, it would never be released, and they would go out of business. In fact, there is no way to achieve “perfect”, but “good enough” can always be achieved. Imagine, if Henry Ford didn’t release his first motorized vehicle because it wasn’t perfect we would still be riding horses
How about you? What in your life do you try to achieve perfection? Is your home perfect? Is your hair perfect? Is your outfit perfect? Is your relationship perfect? How much time do you spend trying to achieve “perfect (better)”, when “good enough” is absolutely acceptable and achievable?
As a minimalist, I am much happier striving for “good enough”. The time and effort it takes to try to find perfection is not worth it. I would rather spend my life achieving good enough than trying to achieve the unachievable.
